How we handle personal information.

Who is responsible

This website is operated by Synaptiq, Lisbon, Portugal. We are responsible for personal information received through this website and contact enquiries. Contact: hello@synaptiq.consulting.

Contact enquiries

When you email us, we use your contact details and the information you choose to provide to respond and discuss a possible engagement. Where you request steps towards a contract with us, we process the relevant information for that purpose. For correspondence on behalf of an organisation, our basis is our legitimate interest in responding to business enquiries. Please avoid sending sensitive records or information about other people before we agree an appropriate way to share them.

Access and service providers

Only the people who need the information for the enquiry and the providers supporting our email, hosting and security may access it, for those purposes. We do not sell contact information or add enquirers to a mailing list. Details of our providers and where they process information are available on request.

Retention

Enquiries that do not become engagements are deleted or anonymised within twelve months of the last substantive contact, unless a specific legal obligation or the establishment, exercise or defence of a legal claim requires longer retention. Records of an engagement follow its agreed retention arrangements and applicable legal requirements. Essential website security logs are retained for up to thirty days, except records needed to investigate a specific incident.

Cookies and tracking

This site does not use advertising, analytics or visitor-profiling tools and does not set cookies for visitors. Necessary hosting and security functions may process technical information such as an IP address. Any later introduction of optional tracking will be described here before activation and, where required, offered only with your consent.

Your rights

You may request access, correction, deletion, restriction or portability where applicable, and object to processing based on legitimate interests. Where processing relies on consent, you may withdraw it. Write to hello@synaptiq.consulting. We normally respond within one month and explain any lawful extension. You may complain to the data-protection authority where you live or work, or where you believe an infringement occurred; in Portugal, this is the Comissão Nacional de Proteção de Dados (CNPD).
